Body Language

The students in Webster Studio 1 are learning to talk and walk. That is, we’re learning to talk about how we move, and then to walk in new and unaccustomed ways. As Missy Vineyard teaches us in her Interterm course on the Alexander Technique, this is trickier than it sounds. It challenges everything we think we know about the connections between mind and body, words and actions, old habits and new awareness.

Amherst College Celebrates 25 Years of Five College Dance Feb. 11 and 12

January 21, 2005Director of Media Relations 413/542-8417 AMHERST, Mass.-The Amherst College Department of Theater and Dance will present Dance in Dialogue, a festival of performances, panel discussions and workshops, as part of the 25th anniversary of the Five College Dance Department. Events will take place Friday and Saturday, Feb. 11 and 12, at Kirby Theater and in Webster Hall at the college.
