Jordan Folger Professor of English and American Studies, about his thoughts on what some consider the split personality of New England Patriots football coach Bill Belichick. "The equivalent figure is Andrew Carnegie," Guttmann said in the piece. "He was a fairly ruthless entrepreneur in the steel industry. And there were bloody strikes at the Carnegie mills. AMHERST, Mass. - Allen Guttmann, the Emily C. Jordan Folger professor of English and American Studies at Amherst College, has been awarded the first annual Sport Science Award of the IOC President, given by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Council of Sport Studies and the Physical Education (ICSSPE).
