Amherst Nets Eight Fulbright, Two Goldwater Winners

Two Amherst juniors have been awarded Goldwater Scholarships on behalf of scientific and academic achievement, and eight recent graduates have been offered Fulbright Fellowships to teach and study abroad.

Amherst College juniors Christopher Gerry of Roslyn Heights, N.Y., and Christopher Finch of Steamboat Springs, Colo., are among the 271 U.S. undergraduates to receive Goldwater Scholarships for the 2013–2014 academic year.

AMHERST, Mass.—Amherst College junior John Ware, a physics major from West Hartford, Conn., is one of just 278 sophomores and juniors from across the United States to receive Barry M. Goldwater scholarships for the 2010-11 academic year.
