Living Greener

Students from the Intro to Environmental Studies course of Spring 2015 were given an assignment to determine the energy usage of applices in dorm rooms. The following is a bar chart displaying results from this assignment. 

Heating and Cooling Standards

Energy conservation does more than reduce the College's financial exposure. It reduces environmental and social costs as well. Energy conservation mitigates the numerous adverse environmental and social impacts associated with energy production and consumption. These include air pollution, acid rain and global warming, oil spills and water pollution, loss of wilderness areas, construction of new power plants, foreign energy dependence and the risk of international conflict over energy supplies.

You Have the PowerThere are several awareness campaigns underway that call attention to seemingly small, simple things that can add up to significant waste or significant savings. Some of our biggest energy savings to date have been realized through these programs.
