Phonathon Gift Processor - Annual Fund

Term/Start Date: Monday, October 24 – Wednesday, December 14, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Job Description: The Amherst College Annual Fund raises money for Amherst’s top priority financial needs through the Phonathon. The Phonathon is made up of student callers who must reach out to alumni and parents each year to encourage annual donations to meet the college’s financial needs. The Phonathon makes a substantial impact in raising essential funds for the college.

Student Security Monitor - Police Department

Term/Start Date:  September 6, 2016

Job Description:  Student Security are paid student employees who provide services for college sponsored events at the direction of the Amherst College Police Department. 

Approximate Number of Hours:  4 – 8 hours a week

Requirements:  Must be able to work nights and weekends.

Safe Ride Drivers - Police Department

Term/Start Date: September 9, 2016

Job Description: Provide public safety escorts by vehicle, in a prompt manner, to any member of the College community. Escorts are limited to College property. 

Approximate Number of Hours: 4 -8 hours a week. Two shifts available, Friday’s 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. and Saturday’s 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Office Assistant - Advancement Operations

Term/Start Date: 2016-17 academic year, beginning in September 2016

Job Description: Assistance with lunch phone coverage in Smith House. Answer caller’s basic questions and forward other calls to appropriate people. Data entry and other administrative duties as assigned

Approximate Number of Hours: 5-10 hours per week

House Manager - Theater and Dance

Term/Start Date: 9/1/16

Job Description: Contact and assign ushers for performance nights, explain usher duties and supervise ushers during performances, coordinate with the stage manager to open house & start shows, take tickets & facilitate audience, help with receptions

Approximate Number of Hours: 9 hours a week, during performance weekends

Requirements: night and weekend availability, supervisory experience a plus
