Student Health Service

Our summer hours will be Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with the last appointment taken at 3:30 p.m. *There will be NO prescription courier service for the duration of the summer. Please bring prescriptions to a pharmacy to be filled (CVS, Target, Walmart) until school resumes in the fall. If the Health Center is closed, Amherst College students can receive medical services at UMass University Health Services (when they are open).  However, you are responsible for expenses not covered by your health insurance. Those with medical emergencies should proceed directly to Cooley Dickinson Hospital. In the parking lot next to Grosvenor House, off of Route 9, you’ll notice two unusual new features: a small standing structure called a PEP Station and a parking space labeled ELECTRIC CAR ONLY. The Amherst College campus can now serve as a pit stop for charging up electric vehicles, and Amherst College Emergency Medical Services (ACEMS) now uses such a vehicle to come to students’ aid, thanks primarily to two juniors who are “very into cars” and eager to see Amherst become a leader in the movement toward greener automotive technology and infrastructure.
