For Students: Hosting by Campus Community Members

Faculty, staff, and local alumni enjoy inviting students to join them for dinner during Thanksgiving break.  If you are interested in participating, please respond to the questions below.

By submitting this form, you are permitting us to share your responses with members of the campus community who are looking to host students.

Please also note: Once you are in contact with a host and you arrange to share a meal, please respect those plans.  Community members do not appreciate it when students do not show up, or cancel at the last minute.

What day(s) would you be interested and available to join a host for dinner? *

If the host lives beyond walking distance, or away from bus access, do you need transportation? *
All students will be paired with at least one other student when visiting the host's house.

For Faculty and Staff: Hosting Amherst Students

Thank you for your interest in inviting students to your house for dinner over Thanksgiving break!  Students truly enjoy getting off campus and building connections with the people in the college community.

Before submitting the form below, please take note of the following information:

  • By signing up, you are permitting us to share your contact information with 2-4 students who have signed up to participate.
  • Many students do not have access to a car.  If you cannot provide transportation (that is, pick up and drop off students in a common meeting location on campus), or your home is not accessible by public transportation, there is a very limited chance that students will be able to join you.
  • Please understand that we cannot guarantee to match you with a student who has a particular set of interests or specific background.  All of our students have something to offer.

Thanks again for your generosity!

Are you able to host students for dinner on Thanksgiving day (Thursday, November 22)? *
If you are not available on Thanksgiving day, which day(s) would you be interested and available to host students for dinner?
Unless you specify otherwise, we will only assign you guests for one night. We are simply asking about multiple days to facilitate matching with students' availability.

What is the maximum number of students are you willing to host? *

Can you provide transportation from campus to your home and back? *
