[Politics] “Terrible Disaster” is the name of a game my favorite 4-year-olds play. With couch cushions, throw pillows, the dog’s bed and anything else that’s soft and safe, Claire and Abby build a fairytale castle or pirate ship on the living-room carpet.

The alumni of Amherst College elected Christopher S. Lehane ’90 to a six-year term on the college’s Board of Trustees starting in 2008. He is a founding partner of the San Francisco-based public relations firm Fabiani and Lehane and has advised corporations, entertainers, professional athletes and politicians in finances, communications, government affairs and the law. He has also worked on several political campaigns, including the U.S. Presidential campaigns in 1992 and 2000. Between these two campaigns, he was special assistant counsel to President Bill Clinton from 1995 to 1997 and then press secretary to Vice President Al Gore from 1997 to 2000.

In addition to his bachelor’s degree in history from Amherst, Lehane holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Chris Lehane ’90 was only seven years out of college when he became press secretary to Vice President Al Gore. He worked for Gore from 1997 to 2000 at the White House and on the 2000 presidential campaign.

Since 2001, Lehane, partner and owner of the California-based company Fabiani and Lehane, has advised corporate, entertainment, political and professional-sports clients in finances, communications, government affairs and the law. He has also worked on several political campaigns.
