Several Amherst alumni and students provided assistance to Haiti after an earthquake hit Port-au-Prince on Jan. 12, 2010. But Thierry Pauyo ’05, a Harvard Med School student with deep roots in the country, was there from the beginning, treating lines of injured Haitians while somehow managing to find and care for his eight orphaned cousins.
