I took broad course work in humanities, sciences

and mathematics; each professor held me to high expectations.

To receive my degree, I managed the financial and medical affairs

of my family while in college 3,000 miles away. At 24 years old, I have worked for two educational non-profits,

a government agency (NASA), and worked as a recruiter for Amherst College (while enrolled).

I received a B.A. in Black Studies,

with a focus on the history of education. My academic interest

lead me to self directed studies of the first black graduates of

the 1820s (US), including Edward Jones, Amherst 1826.
