Law of Equality

Verse written on National Poetry Month 2019

When so and so "tells it like it is,"
And anchors quote theoretical fizz,
And Holmes gets called a brilliant wiz,
It is what it is—it is what it is.

My blinkers see a long way off,
They give your cap a reason to doff,
And even tho' it is never enough,
It is what it is—it is what it is.

A screen can tell you where to go,
And what to eat, and who to know,
Tho' you'll not see it overflow,
It is what it is—it is what it is.

When Time starts snapping at your heels,
And speeding up takes more than wheels,
You'll say you don't know how that feels,
It is what it is—it is what it is.

Better than I, you know what was—
Your failure represents a puzz-
Ling tale for history, if it does—
It is what it is—it is what it is.

Five cents, please. ::crabby psychiatrist face::
