Peter Filkins is a prize-winning poet and translator. Of his most recent collection, Richard Wilbur '42 writes, “As one who hailed Peter Filkins’s stunning first book, I am happy to say that its great promise has been realized with 'The View We’re Granted.'” Filkins is also the author of three previous books of poems-- "What She Knew," "After Homer" and "Augustine’s Vision" --as well as many translations of postwar German literature. His work has appeared in numerous publications, including The New York Times Book Review and The New Republic. He teaches at Bard College at Simon’s Rock.
