The first 20 attendees will receive a copy of Carol Anderson's recent book. A book signing will follow the talk.

Anderson is the Charles Howard Candler Professor of African American Studies at Emory University. At the core of her research is how policy is made and unmade, how racial inequality and racism affect that process and outcome, and how those who have taken the brunt of those policies have worked to shape, counter, reframe and, when necessary, dismantle the legal and political edifice used to limit their rights and their humanity.

Dr. Anderson is the author of many books, including White Rage: The Unspoken Truth of Our Racial Divide (2016), One Person, No Vote: How Voter Suppression is Destroying Our Democracy (2018) and The Second: Race and Guns in a Fatally Unequal America (2021).
