Commencement Commencement Tickets

When Commencement is outdoors on the Main Quadrangle, seating is unlimited and no tickets are required.

Commencement is held outdoors on the Main Quad in all but the most severe weather. Please dress and plan accordingly. If the event is outdoors, seating is unlimited and no tickets are required. Family and guests can begin arriving on the Main Quad as early as 7:30 a.m., however, a person must remain with any seats you reserve.

If severe weather forces Commencement indoors, the ceremony will be moved into LeFrak Gymnasium, where seating is limited and tickets are required. Each senior will receive two tickets for family and friends. Tickets are distributed to graduates at rehearsal on Friday, May 24. Guests without tickets are invited to watch a live stream of the ceremony, which will be broadcast to a variety of locations throughout campus, including Coolidge Cage, Stirn Auditorium and Lipton Lecture Hall.

In the case of inclement weather, please check the Amherst College website or call (413) 542-INFO (4636) on Sunday morning after 8 a.m. to find out if the ceremony has been moved to LeFrak Gymnasium.
