Coming soon to a desktop or mobile device near you: The new Amherst College website.

Scheduled to launch on March 16, the fully revamped Amherst.edu will present College’s residential liberal arts mission in a fresh way for today’s web users, said Chief Communications Officer Pete Mackey. The Offices of Communications and Web Services collaborated over the course of many months with the Fastspot design firm to develop the new site.

First Folio! The Book That Gave Us Shakespeare, on tour from the Folger Shakespeare Library, coming to Amherst College in May

Amherst will be the only location in Massachusetts to host the original First Folio May 9–31, as part of a national touring exhibition celebrating 400 years of Shakespeare.

To commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of poet and playwright William Shakespeare, several of the Bard’s original 1623 First Folios are embarking on a cross-country tour. In the state of Massachusetts, Amherst College will be the only stop for the traveling exhibition titled First Folio! The Book That Gave Us Shakespeare, an initiative made possible by the Folger Shakespeare Library.

Amherst College will welcome acclaimed playwright, actor and professor Anna Deavere Smith for a program titled “Snapshots: Portraits of a World in Transition” at Buckley Recital Hall on Wednesday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
