The Amherst Symphony Orchestra (ASO) wraps up its fall season with a program of Nordic music. The concert's centerpiece will be the monumental Second Symphony by Jean Sibelius; but the program will also include the first movements of the Carl Nielsen flute concerto, the Edvard Grieg piano concerto, and the Rebecca Clarke viola sonata in its orchestration by Ruth Lomon. ASO members and Amherst seniors Reid Dodson '24 (Nielsen), Clara Hoey '24 (Grieg) and Grace Geeganage '24E (Clarke) solo in the concerto movements. The Amherst Symphony Orchestra performs in Buckley. Mark Lane Swanson, director. This concert is FREE, with general seating. Doors open half an hour before the concert.
