Registration for Amherst Today

The registration fee for the program and meals (lunch and dinner Friday; breakfast, lunch and reception on Saturday) is $75. Registrations will be accepted until the program is full. Space is limited, but we will maintain a waiting list as there are frequently last-minute cancellations. Please note that any cancellation requests submitted after March 21 will receive a partial refund of $25.

Checking in

On Friday, registration packets will be available from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the atrium of Keefe Campus Center, and from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the lobby of Valentine Dining Hall. Packets will include your name tag, the schedule, participant biographies, a list of open classes and meal tickets. 

Some faculty have agreed to open their classes to visitors on Friday, April 21. View the list of available classes. If you attend a class, please arrive early to introduce yourself to the professor, and plan to remain for the entire class.

Getting to Amherst

Parking

Participants will receive a parking pass in advance of the program which will enable them to park in designated areas on the main campus. The preferred parking location for this event is the Alumni Parking Lot. See a map of all possible campus parking here. All handicapped parking placards will be honored by the Amherst College Campus Police. The Town of Amherst has designated weekday Permit Parking Only areas in the campus vicinity. You may park in these spaces on Saturdays and Sundays only, and cars will be ticketed by the town if parked there at any other time. Metered parking is available along Boltwood Avenue.

Computer Access on Campus

Guests may use one of the public computers on campus at the following locations (log on to the network with the username acguest):

  • Frost Library: Lobby and A Level
  • Seeley Mudd Computer Center
  • Keefe Campus Center kiosks (2)
  • Valentine Hall kiosks (2)
  • Alumni Gym kiosk on the balcony outside Wolff Fitness Center

Accessing the Internet While on Campus

If you plan to use your own computer, there is wireless network access in all dorms, Alumni House, the Library, Keefe Campus Center, the Science and Music Libraries, Webster Technology Classroom, Seeley Mudd, Valentine Hall, Alumni Gym and all academic buildings. Please be aware that, due to the nature of wireless signals, you may not receive any wireless reception in some areas of certain buildings. Please note that the telephone ports in individual rooms will not be active, so dial-up Internet service providers will not be accessible from your room on campus.

In order to access the wireless network, alumni must first register their computers on the Amherst network. Select the Amherst wireless network. Then open a Web browser (such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari or Chrome). You should automatically be taken to the NetReg page. If you are not automatically sent to the NetReg page, type netreg.amherst.edu in the address field of your browser. Once you arrive at the NetReg page, follow the instructions for visitors and guests on the right side of the page.

Emergency Contact Telephone Number

If you wish to provide family or friends with an emergency phone number while you are in Amherst, please use (413) 542-2000 (our main switchboard). The campus operator will assist in relaying a message.
