A Permanent Home for a Unique Collection
Thanks to a gift from the Norfolk Charitable Trust—headed by Andrew Kendall ’83, P’19 ’22—Frost Library is now home to the papers, photography and memorabilia of a family whose ventures in industry, science, exploration and activism span the 20th century and beyond.
They Found Their Roots
Rick A. López ’93 was inspired by a TV series to create an unusual, experimental first-year seminar. Said one student, “It allowed me to look at myself completely differently. Classes like this are why I chose to come to Amherst.”

On-Campus Lifelong Learning for Alumni and Parents
Did you know that Amherst provides a 2-day on-campus lifelong learning program for alumni and parents? For many years Amherst Today has convened alumni, parents, students, faculty and staff for exploration of a single topic through panels, lectures and discussion. Join us May 3 - 4, 2019 for an interdisciplinary look at democracy. Lectures and discussion will explore the foundations and implementation of democracy in many different times and settings.
