Black Art Matters: Student Art Showcase

This visual art showcase is part of the Black Art Matters Festival, a student-led celebration that highlights the work and artistic achievement of Amherst’s Black students. The exhibition of student artwork will be on view at the Mead Art Museum from February 27–July 7, 2024.

Participating artists: Makayla Boxley '24, Anuoluwapo Daramola '24, Rachel De La Cruz '26, Ayo Eniola '24, Eads Fouche '25, Jada Grant '26, Tariq Muhammad '24, Samuel Nkengla '26, Maëlle Sannon '24, Jacinta Smith '25, and Neviah Waldron '24.

Programming information:  Please join us for the opening of the Black Art Matters Festival on Thursday, February 29th at the Mead Art Museum, when we will celebrate all four Spring exhibitions from 6-8pm. ) The Black Art Matters student performing arts showcase will take place the evening of Saturday, March 2nd at the Eighmy Powerhouse on campus. 

An associated event, a performance by the storied Terri Lyne Carrington and Social Science, will take place on Friday, March 1st as part of the Music@Amherst series. Tickets are required for this concert, and can be reserved here.
